An on-page SEO checklist for helpful articles

Make an article clear for readers and understandable to search engines.

Title and introduction

Use a descriptive title and introduce the task immediately. Avoid promising more than the page delivers. Answer a straightforward question near the top, then develop the explanation. A useful page should not force the reader through a long generic introduction.

Structure and links

Use headings in a logical order, descriptive image alternatives, and internal links where another page helps the task. Anchor text should explain the destination. Include sources for technical claims. A table of contents is useful on long guides but should not replace clear writing.

Evidence and maintenance

Add original examples, screenshots you are entitled to use, and meaningful author information. Verify dates and product details. Correct broken links and remove obsolete instructions. Keep structured data consistent with visible content rather than adding ratings you have not established.

Technical checks

Confirm the page can be indexed, loads correctly on mobile, and has the intended canonical URL. Avoid creating many thin tag pages. A plugin can help manage metadata, but it cannot substitute for an original and useful explanation.

Your next step

Good on-page work supports a clear, useful article; it does not rescue an empty one.

Keep your curiosity going.
